About us
Festive Classics was formed in 2014 to support the Bromsgrove Festival, in providing a varied programme of midweek 'Music at Lunchtime' events. The events have continued over each successive year of the Bromsgrove Festival, particularly appealing to audience members who prefer daytime events.
The aim has always been to provide a series of events to illustrate the extensive variety of classical music for many combinations of instruments in a broad sphere.
The events are held in the New Guesten Hall at the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, followed by lunch. The lunch has become an important aspect of the events, providing an ideal way to enjoy a summer's day in lovely surroundings after a quality concert.
In order to raise funds to offset the costs of running 'Music at Lunchtime', soirée events were initially held in private homes during the autumn and spring of the first few years. These were to invited audiences, giving the pleasure of watching musicians at close quarters and the opportunity to chat to them afterwards in a relaxed environment during a buffet. The soirée concerts have now been discontinued, but there are records of them in the Past events pages.
