Stuart, Assistant Head of the Music Education Service in Birmingham, will illustrate the variety of music written for the tuba and give us an insight into its history and versatility. Stuart is a member of the British Tuba Quartet.

'Woodwind Serenade' - Arioso Winds - Start your Christmas with a lovely programme of varied music from classical to jazz and Christmassy bits and pieces to get us all in the mood. Wed 5 Jul 2017	'Mendelssohn's Octet' - Sinfonia Friends - Performed by an octet from the Sinfonia of Birmingham. This Octet was written when Mendelssohn was only 16, as a birthday present for a friend. This is one of the most brilliant in the repertoire for chamber strings, and epitomises the perfection of Mendelssohn's light and tuneful music.
